How backlink indexing in Google works
Learn the difference between a published backlink and Google indexing, how to check a page, and what Search Console can tell a site owner.

Publication and indexing are separate steps
A published placement is a page that a reader can open at a live URL. Indexing is a search engine’s decision to store and potentially show that page in search results. A page can be publicly available without being indexed. We add each published placement URL to your dashboard so you can review the live page and keep a record of your campaign.
Check the live page first
Open the published URL without signing in. Check that it loads, contains the expected article and anchor, and links to the destination you submitted. A broken page or an incorrect destination should be raised with support. Also check the destination itself: a link to a page that redirects unexpectedly or asks visitors to log in may not provide the experience you intended.
What can prevent indexing?
Search engines need to discover and access a page, then assess whether it belongs in the index. A noindex instruction, a canonical pointing to another page, or access problems can affect what is indexed. Start by checking the live placement URL and your destination page. Send our team a ticket with the order reference and URL if you find an access or delivery issue.
Use Search Console for websites you own
A verified owner can inspect their own URL in Google Search Console, run a live test, and request indexing where the page is eligible. The indexed report describes Google’s stored information, while a live test checks the current page. Access to your destination website’s Search Console does not provide ownership of a publisher’s separate website.
Sitemaps help Google discover a site’s pages
A sitemap lists a website’s preferred public URLs. A site owner can submit that sitemap in Search Console and review fetch or processing errors. Use your sitemap and Search Console reports to follow discovery of the pages on your own website. Keep the destination pages in your campaign accessible and include them in your site’s navigation where relevant.
Keep a record of your campaign
Save the placement URLs shown in your dashboard alongside your anchor keywords and destinations. Use your own analytics and Search Console reports to review visits, enquiries, and search performance over time. A consistent record makes it easier to plan your next campaign and share useful details with our support team.
Give support a specific issue to investigate
If a placement has disappeared, the published URL fails to load, or the anchor or destination is incorrect, send a ticket from your dashboard with the order reference and live URL. Screenshots and a clear description help identify the delivery issue. Questions about a custom campaign can be discussed before checkout through the custom-quantity ticket category.
